Objectives and Program Outcomes of M. Phil Biotechnology

Objectives:

The main objectives of M. Phil Biotechnology degree program are:

  1. To equip the students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary knowledge and methodologies in the field of Biotechnology, also empowering them to conduct applied research and generate scholarly publications.
  2. To develop knowledgeable scholars in biotechnology, well-versed in the latest trends and advancements in scientific research within the field of biological sciences.
  3. To cultivate expertise in the areas of Microbial Biotechnology, Health Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Food and Agricultural Biotechnology, and related allied disciplines, fostering the creation of novel knowledge and advancements in the realm of Biotechnology.

Outcomes:

After completing the MPhil Biotechnology degree, students will be able to:

  1. Recognize the cutting-edge literature in the field of Biotechnology while understanding the theoretical and practical underpinnings of his/her work and indicate how the research may be able to contribute to it.
  2. Discover job opportunities in the biotechnology industry in the sectors of academics, research and diagnostic labs, dairy, food, agricultural, poultry, livestock, waste management, and environmental protection agencies, both locally and abroad.
  3. Demonstrate their research findings through seminar presentations, sharing their work with fellow students and faculty members during scholarly gatherings in the field of Biotechnology.
  4. Gain practical expertise in utilizing statistical, computing, and other relevant techniques for effectively collecting and analyzing research data in the field of Biotechnology.
