LGU SPORTS’ ACHIEVEMENTS – 2021
  1. LGU Sports Training / Trial Camp: In preparation for this year’s sports championships, which would be held by HEC and other organizations, trainings and trials for the following games and activities were conducted. More than 400 students of LGU have actively participated: –

    i. WUSHU

    ii. Karate

    iii. Judo

    iv. Cricket

    v. Hand ball

    vi. Volley ball

    vii. Basket ball

    viii. Athletic

    ix. Football

    x. Hockey

    2. The LGU team participated in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Wushu Men Competition in Peshawar from June 18 to June 20, 21 and received one gold medal and seven bronze medals.

    3. The LGU squad participated in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Judo Men Competition in Lahore from June 21 to 22, 2021, and received four silver and four bronze medals. Overall, LGU came in third position.

    4. The LGU team competed in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Wushu Women Competition in Quetta from June 20 to June 23, 21 and won one gold medal, two silver medals, and one bronze medal, placing third.

    5. The LGU squad participated in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Judo Women Competition in Lahore from June 22 to June 23, 21. The team received one bronze medal.

    6. Mr Sheraz Ali of BBA (Hons) got 4th position in the World Cup Mass Wrestling Championship in Uzbekistan from June 15 to June 20, 2021.

    7. Mr Sheraz Ali represented Pakistan in stage II of the World Cup Mass Wrestling Competition, which was held in Turkey (Istanbul) from September 16 to September 20, 21 and won a bronze medal.

    8. Mr Danial Aftab of BS Physics is now attending National Camp and will later go to Singapore as a member of Pakistan’s Weight Lifting squad to compete in the Common Wealth Games.

    9. From October 1 to 2, LGU Karate Teams (Men and Women) competed in the HEC Intervarsity Karate Championship 2 021-22 at Quetta.

    The Karate Men’s Team won one silver medal and three bronze medals.

    10. The Karate Women’s Team won one silver medal and two bronze medals.

    11. The Intervarsity Weight Lifting Championship 2021-22 was held in Punjab University Lahore from October 21 to 22. The team earned two gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals, secured second position overall in the competition.

    12. The Intervarsity Wushu Men Championship 2021-22 was held at UET Lahore from November 5 to 7, 21. Our team took second place in the competition after winning four gold medals, five silver medals, and six bronze medals.

    13. LGU competed in the Intervarsity Baseball Women Competition in Lahore from November 7 to 11 and secured fourth position overall.

    14. From November 12 to 14, the LGU competed in the Intervarsity Women Swimming Competition in Karachi.

    15. LGU competed in the Intervarsity Men Swimming Competition in Lahore, winning silver in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay and bronze in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay. The squad secured fourth position overall in the Intervarsity Competition.

    16.The LGU Volleyball Men’s Team competed in the Zone D Championship in Lahore from November 15 to 18, 2021. In the finals, the team defeated Punjab University to win the title.

    17.The LGU Women’s Team competed in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Wushu Competition at Mardan from November 21 to 23, 2021, and won 5 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

    18.The NUML University Islamabad hosted the 2021 All Pakistan Intervarsity Volleyball Championship. The topic championship final was held between LGU and Peshawar from November 23 to November 26, 2021. (Former Champion). The LGU Team won the championship by defeating Peshawar University 3 -0 in straight sets.
