Overview
The Department of Humanities and Arts at Lahore Garrison University was established as a forward-looking academic initiative aimed at fostering interdisciplinary learning and intellectual integration across diverse fields of study. Formed through the amalgamation of the disciplines of International Relations & Political Science, Islamic Studies, and Urdu, the department represents a cohesive academic platform designed to revitalize and reposition these foundational fields within a modern educational framework.
The department was conceived in response to evolving academic and societal needs, particularly the demand for broader, more integrative knowledge systems. It serves as a central academic resource, offering a wide range of general, allied, and interdisciplinary courses to students across various departments of the university.
With a diverse pool of highly qualified specialists, the department contributes significantly to the academic enrichment of students by delivering a comprehensive portfolio of courses. These include Quranic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Ideology and Constitution of Pakistan, International Relations and Current Affairs, and Social Work Practices, alongside a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary offerings such as World History, Introduction to Philosophy, State and Society, Global Governance, Public Policy, Blue Economy, Emerging and Disruptive Technologies, and Comparative Foreign Policies of Great Powers.
