Associate Dean’s Message

Welcome to the Department of Management Sciences (DMS) at LGU, where we are dedicated to fostering student success and shaping future business leaders. Our undergraduate programs in management sciences and accounting & finance are designed to equip students with essential skills, including critical and constructive thinking, problem-solving, and exceptional communication. We also offer selective, high-quality postgraduate programs to further enhance our students’ expertise.

Our vision is to provide top-tier education and research that aligns with global standards. Our strategic development plan for business education focuses on five key areas:

  1. Branding LGU, DMS: Establishing our institution as the premier choice for prospective students and employers, recognized for quality and excellence.
  2. Enhancing Education Quality: Meeting and exceeding the standards set by national and international accreditation bodies to ensure superior educational outcomes.
  3. Promoting Research Culture: Engaging students and faculty in research through our MS/Ph.D. programs, launching a research journal, and hosting national and international research conferences.
  4. Strengthening Industry-Academia Linkages: Offering well-designed executive development programs to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Inclusion of industry experts in our curriculum development committee enables us to keep curricula aligned with industry practices.
  5. Internationalization: Facilitating student mobility for entire semesters, organizing short educational visits to international universities, and providing international internship opportunities.

With over 30% of our faculty holding Ph.D. degrees, DMS prides itself on excellence in teaching and innovative research publications. Our students participate in a variety of events and non-academic activities that enrich their campus experience.

We also operate an active Business Incubation Center – Ibtida, which serves as a launch pad for young entrepreneurs and innovators. Ibtida aims to be a pivotal contributor to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan. LGU supports promising ideas with seed funding of up to Rs. 1 million for each successful team incubating at BIC.
