Bachelor of Science in Genetics
Program Vision:
Produce competent, ethical, and research oriented geneticists with a commitment for the advancement of healthcare, agriculture, biotechnology and forensics at national and global levels.
Program Mission:
The program will produce skilled geneticists equipped with scientific knowledge, technical expertise, critical thinking, and a strong sense of professional ethics, enabling them to spread awareness and provide solutions to the pressing genetic and health-related issues faced by our community and beyond.
Program Objectives:
After completing the degree, students will be able to:
- To equip students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in genetics.
- To develop proficiency in the use of modern laboratory equipment and analytical techniques, ensuring adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols.
- To foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities for effective interpretation of results in genetic analysis.
- To prepare competent and ethical genetics professionals capable of contributing to healthcare, agriculture, biotechnology and forensics.
Program Outcomes:
After completing the degree, students will be able to:
- Graduates will demonstrate a strong foundation in molecular genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and allied life sciences, with an ability to integrate AI and data analytics into genetic research and applications.
- Graduates will be able to design and conduct experiments, analyze genomic and biological data, and apply critical thinking to solve complex problems in healthcare, agriculture, biotechnology, and forensics.
- Graduates will effectively communicate scientific knowledge, research findings, and genetic concepts to both expert and non-expert audiences through oral, written, and digital platforms.
- Graduates will uphold ethical principles in genetic research, clinical practice, and data handling, while demonstrating social responsibility by raising awareness of genetic disorders and contributing to sustainable solutions for social challenges.
- Graduates will be able to play leadership roles in academia, healthcare, industry, and public policy, contributing to innovation and sustainable development at the national and global levels.
